Step
1:
Open the photo you will be using for this tutorial.
Step

Select (Image > Mode > Lab Color).

Step

Now on the channels dialogue box choose (Channels tab
> Lightness)

Along the top toolbar choose (Filter > Sharpen >
Unsharp Mask). The unsharp mask box will open, like the
image below.

I
like to keep the radius set between 1 and 3 and the threshold
between 2 and 6 depending on the photograph I am working
with. Play with the settings untill you are happy with
what you see. I set amount to 65% on all my photo's and
then adjust from there if needed.
Step
5:
We now need to set the image back to color so choose (Image
> Mode > RGB Color).
Take
a look at your image in color and apply the filter a second
time if need be. If not simply save your image and your
done.
