Step 1:
Open the image you will be using for this tutorial.
Step
2:
In the top toolbar click on (Image > Adjustments >
levels).
This will
open up the levels window. The below image will show you
the automatic settings for my image.
Step
3:
The first thing I do is to click on the (Auto) button.
This will adjust the color automatically before we adjust
it to our liking. Sometimes just clicking the (Auto) button
will do without having to adjust anything else but if
not keep following this tutorial.
Step
4:
We will now adjust the middle slider and the right hand
side slider. If you slide any of these two you will see
what they do for example sliding the middle one to the
left will lighten the image. Try it and see! You can play
around with these untill you are happy with the result
of your image and the lightness. The image below shows
the settings I have chosen for my image of Luke (above).
That's all
there is to fixing a dark image. Of cause there are other
ways of doing this but this is just one of our ways. Always
remember to save your photo's after modifying them.
